Voting by Absentee Ballot
If you are not certain that you can get to the polls that day, you may apply for an absentee ballot anyway, and then if you find that you will be available to vote in person, you simply go to the polls and ask them to nullify your absentee ballot.  Apply for your absentee ballot from the Board of Elections (see their address above.)

Voting by absentee ballot is a two-step process:
      1)   First apply for an absentee ballot by filling out a form from the Board of Elections;
        2)   After you submit your application, you will receive a ballot which you will fill out and return to the Board of Elections.

PROVISIONAL BALLOT
By law, you have the right as a registered voter to request a provisional ballot at your polling place if:

* It's your first time voting and you don't have appropriate I.D. with you; or
* You've voted before but your name does not appear on the voters' register at the polling place; or
* By court order.
